Synapsis:

While following up a lead in a small town cade is spotted in a diner and the troops are in to capture him. Masquerading as US Marshal Joshua Bridges, the alien Joshua tracks Cade in order to return him to the assembly members for further study(of the anatomy kind). Cade finally gets some answers and we learn that the aliens have weakness to an everyday food additive(salt). This is by far one of the best eps. The interaction between Spence and Cross is quite explosive. But is Joshua a friend or foe?

EXT. SEARCH BASE - DAY

A police car, gumballs flashing, silently races up a dirt road through thik woods. The car slides to a stop on a grassy knoll overlooking a panoramic, 180-degree view of an endless forest. Sheer mountain bluffs tower behind the carpet of green trees below, creating a natural valley.

The police car LOGO reads "Grand Falls County Sheriff's Office." The door opens and a POLICE OFFICER exits and rushes along a row of EMERGENCY VEHICLES to large CANOPY TENT, supported by aluminum poles. The tent literally bursts with activity.

Follow the office through the tent , past a table with a SHERIFF'S DEPUTY on a commuications radio, the past park ranger JODY NOLAN, tacking up a map o a freestanding bulletin board. The officer finally joins an assembly of TWELVE DEPUTIES and TWELVE EMERGENCY RESPONSE TEAM(E.R.T.) MEMBERS.

The all stand before Cascade County Sheriff James Haddock, 40's a seen-it-all veteran whose stable presence as a calm eye in the center of the storm. Haddock walks along the search team members.

HADDOCK
You've all taken the mandatory course in fugitive tracking at no small expense to taxpayers. Now let's show them their money's hard at work. You will be broken up into field teams. Each team will have one search manager and four armed officers.

HADDOCK
Remeber a search is a classic mystery. You are all detectives today. You're not just searching for a fugitive, you're searching forclues to where he might be hiding.

Haddock
We'll start with a hasty search of trail heads and brach points. You know these trails better than anyone. What're our chances here?

Jody
Real good. Look at the topo map.

S.A.R Manager
Looks like one of our dogs has gotthe scent. Lets move out.
Okay, boys, let's bring him in.

...and then slams the trunk door hard, catching Crowley's neck, tapping his head inside the trunk. A second slam of the trunk crushes Crowley's neck, killing him instantly.

Joshua
Your hate for each other is only gonna speed your defeat...boy.

S.A.R. Manager
The moutain's creating an unstable air loft.

The field officer walks to the water's edge.

Field Officer
What if he went into the water?

Foster
Wanna know what makes me a "formidable adversary?" You did. You bastards created me when you murdered my wife.

Joshua
Then we're even stronger than I imagined.
(beat)
Start walking.

Foster picks up the rifle and checks the chamber to make sure it's functioning, then turns the rifle on Joshua and slowly moves to his side.

Foster
I got you. I got you, you son of a b...

From a stationary point beside the road, a Cadillac comes into view. As Cadillac passes, we see Crazy Eddie inside.
(Note: Actor Rob Labelle covered by three million dollar Llyod's of London insurance policy.)(actual not on script.)

Foster
I'm not like you bastards.

Foster leans down to whisper to Joshua.

Foster(cont'd)
You don't even have the balls to attck us straight up.

Joshua
I'm a n Acolyte. An assassin.

Foster
Are you all Acolytes?

Joshua
There's a scientific sector and an infiltration unit. They hold some of your highest positions of power.

Foster
Three bodies thre lifetimes...
(a frightening thought)
...to kill. How much blood do you have on your hands?

Joshua
We're here because we'll never be victims again.

Foster tilts the shotgun till it nearly touches Joshu's throat.

Foster
Well look at you now.

Joshua stares at Foster, slapped down by his words.

Deputy Graham(O.S.)
Hello! Anybody there?

Joshua
Joshua Bridges, U.S. Marshal. This fugitive was holding me in the trees. Thank God you showed up when you did. Cover me and I'll secure him.

Deputy Graham
You okay, Marshal?

Joshua
Lost a little blood. I'll be fine.

Foster
You haven't learned anything about us.

Joshua
Before you condemn me for violence take a look at your own world. I'm a black man. I face the violence of your culture everyday. My last body was white.
(then)
It was easier.

Joshua looks at Foster with clear calculatio in his eyes.

Joshua
There's a reason I know so much about your wife. I was at Wilsonville Psychiatric Institute the last night you two were together. I thought you were the target...I was wrong.

A chill creeps up Foster's spine, as he stands with the rifle.

Joshua(cont'd)
Two orderlies brought your wife to me in a small room. She didn't beg or plead. She just looked up at me and said, "My husband will hunt you down." I believed her...and then I wrapped my hands around her neck and...

Without a word, Foster crosses over Joshua and raises his rifle to crack it against Joshua's head.

Jody(O.S.)
Don't!

Foster turns to see Jody, the forest ranger , terrified for the life of this bloodied U.S marshal on the ground. He rises to his feet. And then , in the distancee, Foster hears the renewed BARKING OF DOGS. They seem to snap him back to reality. Foster steps away from Joshua and turns the rifle on Jody.

Officer Nash
We recovered a body, Jim,by the Meadow View Falls. It's Crowley. Somebody broke his neck.

Haddock
Damn, Luke. Dam! He's got a wife and ten year old boy.

Nearby Joshua's leg shackles have been wrapped around a porch stanchion.

Joshua
Congratulations...you might pull this off.

Foster
I will pull this off.

Joshua
Doesn't matter. I'llfind a way to take my life in prison before I allow myself to be studied.

Foster
I'll guard you personally if I have to.
(then)
You're wrong, you know. What you said. One man can make a difference. The rebel leader you called Gua, he was alone when he saved your race from oppression, right?

Joshua
He was alone.

Foster
So am I.

Joshua takes in Foster's words. Now Jody appears from inside the cabin and joins Foster's side.

Foster(cont'd)
Thanks for your help. Sorry I scared you back there with the rifle.

Jody
I've faced worse.

Foster raises an eyebrow as if to say, "Oh really?" Jody smiles...even ventures a laugh.

Jody(cont'd)
Okay...maybe not "worse." But you should see how mean a 1,200-pound grizzly with a bur in her paw can be.

Foster
(smiling)
I'll bet.

Foster's Journal
I'm on a journey. A journey to find believers. To let them know what horrors lie in store if we don't all pull together. If we don't find the Gua within ourselves. Today I found a believer where I never dreamed possible. Did Joshua murder my wife? Did he kill Hannah? I don't know. To be honest, I'm not sure I want to know. It might make the task ahead too hard. Because if I ever hope to win this war, I need someone inside the enemy camp. I need Joshua.

Trinity's fav lines and scenes.
Crazy Eddie: Oh you're thinking of the naturalist who eat granola and hugs trees and-- you see, I'm a naturalist in the sense of being...a nudist. Got a place up north, deep in the woods, where I just let it all hang out. Quiet little place really... Lots of volleyball...

Joshua: You hate for each other will only hasten your defeat.

Foster: Well I'm smarter than your average lab rat.

Foster: They've got dogs Eddie
Eddie: What kind?
Foster: I don't know Eddie I'm not stopping to pet them.

The bearded TRUCK DRIVER climbs from the cab of his truck. TWO COPS amble over to have a word with him.

Foster
The wrong choice can be fatal

...to REVEAL that Cade Foster is lying on top of the truck. HOLD on his tense face for a beat, then he rolls and jumps off the top of the semi -- the side opposite the cops.

Foster
This is the life of a hunted man.

BACK TO FOSTER

Foster
Lincoln was shot

Crazy Eddie
(whispered)
That's what they tell you.

He pulls a gagantuan ring of keys from his belt and fiddles with the lock on the trailer door.

Crazy Eddie's Voice
Want a Jolt? Got twice the caffine.

Foster's Voice
I'm wired enough as it is

Eddie opens a small refrigeration unit and removes a can of Jolt Cola.

Note: The line Crazy Eddie: "Handy Little Talent" is not in the script.

Foster
Can we check it out?

Crazy Eddie
Dean never told me the location. As if I'd check it out with you... Mr. Alien Hunter.

Foster
Got no where to turn Eddie. I need your help.

Eddie
Get your hands off me!
(Foster complies)
I work alone. I don't like you. I don't trust you. I don't need anyone. I'm not going to drop all my important work to follow some cockamamie story about little green men! Do your own investigating!

Foster releases Eddie's collar, sadness replacing the anger. He indicates the logo beneth the Paranoid Times masthead, "Believe the Unbelievable".

Foster
You're the guy who believes everything and you don't believe me.
(then:)
Guess I'm on my own.

They lock eyes for a beat. Foster exits the trailer. Eddie watches him leave. Mutters under his breath.

Crazy Eddie
Aliens.

INT. Dean's Apartment-Day

Foster checks closets and drawers. Presses floorboards with the heel of his shoes. Checks the ceiling panal for hidden compartments. Thorough as hell.

Amsa
My car broke down on the overpass. Can I use your phone to call a tow-truck?

Eddie turns suspicious.

Crazy Eddie
Who sent you?

Amsa
Just a phone call. C'mon... I won't bite.

Eddie studies her stunning figure.

Crazy Eddie
I'm sorry. I'm a weird guy. Of course you can come in.

Eddie wordlessly lets her enter.

Foster
Cut the foreplay, sweetheart.
Amsa's head whip-pans to witness Foster's entry in the doorframe. For a brief moment her face FLASHES ALIEN.

Crazy Eddie
(gasping)
Help me.
Note: Amsa
Useless..(tossing Eddie aside) does not appear in the script.

Foster
You're not going nowhere.

He blocks her path. Bad move. She casually hurls him like a freight train into the wall ten feet away. She puts on her silky blouse and strides out of the trailer.

Amsa marches away from the airstream. Foster leaps from the trailer to the ground.

Foster
Get back here.

Note: Amsa
You just don't know when to quit do ya? (is not in orinignal script)

Amsa hurriedly turns and strides away. Dripping a crimson path. Foster gasps for breath. Eddie crawls into the doorframe.

Crazy Eddie
Thank God for John Wilkes Booth's sword.

INT.AIRSTREAM TRAILER - DAY

Crazy Eddie
I couldn't help it Foster. She was beautiful.

Foster
She wasn't human pal. Her face flashed pretty ugly when I walked in.

Crazy Eddie
That's not proof she's an alien.

Foster
Then why'd her arm disappear?

Crazy Eddie
The CIA has a toxin that can dissolve flesh.

Foster
Whatever you say.

Crazy Eddie
(furiously)
Don't stifle me, Foster. I don't like getting stifled.

Foster
Look I'm sorry.
question is why she was after this thing.

Foster
Wild guess. It's an energy source.

Crazy Eddie
Not a normal one. Almost got whiplash watching that needle

Crazy Eddie
Let's use the electroencephalogram.

Roland
My thoughts exactly
Foster
Speak English, huh?

Crazy Eddie
An E-E-C gives you a reading of the mind's overall electrical activity.

Foster
What're you trying to say? we got a thinking golf ball?

Roland
In very elementary terms, yes.

Roland stands above the graph printer measuring the orb's alpha rhythm. He's wildly excited.

Crazy Eddie
Larger brain capacity.

Roland
(studying the graph)
I'd say twelve percent higher.

Foster
The wave patterns are getting larger. Like it's waking up.

Roland
This is an artificial intelligence like none I've ever seen. think of the applications: a working brain in the palm of your hand.

EXT. INSTITUE - DAY

Foster and Eddie hurriedly walk back to the Cadillac.

Crazy Eddie
Roland was a jerk, but he didn't deserve that.

Foster
We stabilized him, called 9ll. Let’s beat it before the cops show up.

Crazy Eddie
That thing blew Roland out like a cheap stereo speaker...

Foster
“Effect the transfer.”

In Dean’s car

They settle into a defeated silence. Eddie examines Foster

Foster
(after a beat)
They killed Hannah and destroyed my life. Now I’m looking over my shoulder every minute. Helpless.

Crazy Eddie
Paranoia’s a lonely business.
Foster
Even if we found the lab, they probably still think we're madmen.

Crazy Eddie
If history tells us one thing, my dear Foster, it's that sometimes madmen turn out to be prophets.

He leans against the car roof, eyes glancing inside the car.

Crazy Eddie
Foster! he's got a GPS! Dean was always a techno-slut...and that's our answer

The Cadillac cruises into the lot of a very spooky power plant. Night casts eerie shadows on the ground. Eddie shut off the engine

Crazy Eddie
I don't mind admitting that I'm very, very frightened.

Foster
You're close, Eddie. Close to the score you been waiting for your whole life.

Amsa stares at Foster and Eddie's image. two HULKING MEN stand nearby, awaiting orders.

New Amsa
They're trapped, but we must be careful. we're about to enact transfer of twenty Acolyte assassins. and one of the intruders has Joshua.

Eddie pulls out a small spy camera and begins to take photographs of the beautiful human husks.

Crazy Eddie
Invasion of the beautiful people.

After performing some surgery on the phone line....

New Amsa
Turn around< Mr. Foster.

Amsa stands amid the husks. One of the Hulking Men has Eddie in a chokehold.

New Amsa
(on monitor)
You have a connection to this strange little man. I have a connection to what's in your possession.

Foster
Then let's make a deal.

after some back and forth with Amsa

Emergency Operator
There's an encryption block on the line, I must have verbal confirmation of address.

Foster ambles into the room with the orbs box wide open. he also carries a small oxyacetylene torch. the eight-inch flame is pointed at the orb.

Foster
Gimme Eddie or I blow his mind.

New Amsa
(a hiss)
What are you doing?

Foster
Keeping my options open.

A silent stand-off.

New Amsa
What're the terms?

Foster
We walk outta here, you get your fancy golf ball.

The Girl stares tenderly at the ball.

New Amsa
(haltingly)
You have a connection to this strange little man. I have a connection to what you hold in your hand.

Foster
Then let's make a deal.

New Amsa
Give me the orb and you go free.

Foster
I wasn't born yesterday...
(indicating the bodies)
...like most of these sonabitches.

New Amsa
The orb or he dies

Foster considers - torn and untrusting. Eddie withers in the grasp of the Hulking Men.

Foster
Okay! let him go.

He tosses the orb through the air. One of the Hulking men catches it... letting Eddie go in the process.

He scurries over to Foster's side.

Foster
Okay, we'll just be running along.

New Amsa
I can't let you leave. I promise your deaths will be painless.

Foster
(to Eddie)
Make a note, Eddie. You can't trust these aliens.

New Amsa
(to henchmen)
Get them!

The Hulking henchmen stride toward Foster, but he does not run. Instead, he holds the flaming oxyacetylene torch to the base of the over-hanging grid.

New Amsa
Stop!

Foster
If you can't stand the heat, get off our planet.

Back in the trailer with Eddie

Crazy Eddie
(nodding) Nostradamus predicted this would happen four hundred year ago.

Foster
Isn't that stretchin' it?

Crazy Eddie
We're not talking about the Nostradamus who's been commercialized and bastardized and slapped on the cover of tabloids. This is the real deal, Foster. it's a Rosetta stone that can help us beat these sonabitches.

After a little conversation.

Note: Foster
So…

Crazy Eddie
Chicago’s your hometown(is not in the script)

Foster
Proves one thing. Nostradamus is full of crap.

Crazy Eddie
You’re…

Foster
(angrily)
No!

They lock eyes. An intense beat:

Foster ponders this – weight heavy on his shoulders.

Foster
Why me…?

Crazy Eddie
You’re the twice-blessed man.

But there is a certain acceptance in his voice. A sense that this is indeed his destiny.

He slings his Blackhawks bag over his shoulder.

Foster
Back to where we started, Eddie. Need your help.

Crazy Eddie
But I work alone. I’m not a people person --

Foster
Gotta get the word out. Can use “Paranoid Times” to do it.

Eddie shifts from foot to foot. Stares into Foster’s eyes.
Decision-time.

Crazy Eddie
(softly)
Okay. I’ll help. I believe in you Foster. You made me believe.

Eddie awkwardly offers his hand. They shake. Foster turns toward the door. Ready to leave.

Crazy Eddie
I never saw her picture.

Foster digs out his worn black wallet. He pulls out the photo from inside.

CLOSE – ON HANNAH.

Smiling. Gorgeous.

Eddie hands it back.

Crazy Eddie
She was beautiful.
(then: )
Good luck, Foster.

Foster
Thanks, Eddie. Call you tomorrow.

He exits. Eddie slowly shuts the trailer door.

INT. AIRSTREAM TRAILER – NIGHT

Eddie listens to Foster’s voice as it plays through the answering machine.

Foster
Gonna seek these bastards out.
Wherever something weird is going on, you’re gonna find Cade Foster. With the help of my friend Eddie Nambulous, what I find will fill the pages of “Paranoid Times.”

The computer voice analyzer scrolls the print version of Foster’s words on the monitor. A signal flash: Employ Encryption Code.

Eddie watches as the final few words are voice identified onto the screen.

Foster’s Voice
We can beat the. Believe in ourselves… and each other…and we’ll kick their a@@ all up and down the street.

Trinity’s favorite lines from “Crazy Eddie”:
Amsa: Hey surfer boy. How bout I wax your board?

Crazy Eddie: I’ll shih-kabob your throat if you don’t raise your hands.

Crazy Eddie: Why should I trust you?
Foster: You shouldn’t. You’re paranoid.

Foster: Enough with the Oswalds.

Crazy Eddie: DIE ALIEN SCUM! Always wanted to say that.

Foster: Read it. How can one day have seven dawns?
Crazy Eddie: Actually every day has twenty-four dawns: one for each time zone. Nostradamus wrote these puppies in France – exactly seven time zones ahead of Chicago.
Foster: What’s your drift, Eddie?
Crazy Eddie: Chicago’s your hometown – he was talking about you.
Foster: Nostradamus is full of crap.
Crazy Eddie: No he’s not. You’re the twice-blessed man.
Foster: Twice cursed is more like it.

Foster: Maybe our race is too attracted to beauty to be able to spot the evil that lies within. On my bad days, I wonder if the human race is even worth saving. But then I think of Hannah. We can beat them. Believe in ourselves… and each other. As buddy Eddie says, sometimes madmen turn out to be prophets.

Chris Brancato(the coolest writter that ever existed)

Synapsis:

In the pilot of the greatest scifi show in history, our hero Cade finds out he has been a "minion" in an experiment, consisting of 117 subjects, to test human will. The clicker is the experimant is being run by none other than aliens who are bent on taking over the world. Though this ep ends abruptly it makes you hungry for more waves.

Foster
I love modern art

Foster smashes the statue against the combination dial.

Dray
Are you crazy?

Foster
(re: the sculpture)
Sorry, sir. I checked to make sure it was a reproduction.
(re: the safe)
Oh, look. I musta hit one of those seam ruptures.

He carefully replaces the sculpture to the pedestal. He tugs at the safe door handle.

Foster
Even with no combination dial, the thing's still locked.
(then)
Gotta love a Goodwin lock.

After the sales meeting

Foster
Be right back Billy.

The friend looks down and sees the napkin. The number 19 is scrawled all over it.

Friend #1
(to others) Nineteen? What's that all about?

They walk through the glorious blooming garden.

Foster
Happy anniversary.

Hannah
It's not our anniversary.

Foster
Oh that's right. It's Billy and Jennifer's anniversary.
Dammit. Now I gotta return your present.

INT. Office - DAY

Foster
These records were sealed by the county.
Someone's trying to sabotage my career.

Birmingham
You've done a fair jod of that yourself, son.

Foster
Mr. Birmingham, you gotta let this one slide.

EXT. FOSTER'S HOUSE - NIGHT
Foster's chevy pulls into the driveway behind Hannah's car.
Four kids play hockey in the street.

He exits the car, trudging up the walkway like a condemned prisoner, pausing to take note that the glass sheath surrounding the old fashion lamp-post has been shattered. The bare lightbulb flickers on and off, casting an eerie glow on the property.

Foster
(resigned) Kids.

He reaches up and screws the bulb more tightly. The wash of harsh bright light illuminates a muddy FOOTPRINT on the cement walkway.

Foster kneels to study the outline of a size sixteen shoe.

In the house.
A television is lying on it's side. We hear the droning voice of a newscaster.

Newscaster
The murderer stabbed his victims at least nineteen times.

After finding Hannah in the bath tub.

Hannah
I heard noises. I hid in here. Who was here? Who came into our house?

Foster
I don't know...

He engulfs her in his arms. And as she sinks into a stupefied calm...

Foster(cont'd)
But they crossed the line.

After Sam Hitchen's Death.
Mrs. Hitchens
(through her sobs)
That's the man.

Foster
What man?

Mrs. Hitchens
The man Sam saw in his visions.

After talking to Mayhew
He violently yanks the faucet handle off the sink. Water burbles out. No cameras

Hannah
If you don't, I'm not sure how much more of this I can take.

Foster
If I can't find anything at Mayhew's, we'll be on a plane to Rochester in the morning.

Hannah
No, Cade. Tonight. We're going to be on a plane tonight.

Foster
(suddenly) Hannah, the shower always drips.

Mayhew's Maze

Foster
When he said hedgerow, I'm thinking a patch of shrubs.

Hannah
Exactly what are we looling for?

Foster
Mayhew said the text was hidden behind the ruby red eye.

Hannah
(sarcastic) Oh. That makes a lot of sense.
They reach a dead end. Cade turns back, leads her in another direction. As they walk:

Hannah
Cade, this place gives me the creeps. I mean what if they're watching us here?

Cade
Just bear with me.

This it another little note: In the script the year that Nostradamus wrote the book was 1540.
Col. Grace's whole name is Col. Leona Justice Grace.

Doctor
Our use of the subject's wife was quite clever. We grew a genetic duplicate with a generous helping of our own DNA. Subject was subsequently arrested by the police for his wife's murder, and it was at this point that we arranged for his incarceration here. we've kept him on high levels of barbiturates.

My favoriteline from this ep:
Hannah
What was I suppose to do? How's Cade? Fine mom, he's out back checking the light sockets for tiny surveillance cameras.

Well thats all for now. I'll do the others later. But I'm not going to say when exactly, but soon.
